Created from a love of simplicity, meaningful journeys and the connections that weave people together across cultures and borders.

The Gajahemp Sarong/Lungi was inspired by the founder's journey to replace the most practical and well-worn sarong and travel companion of many years.

To share the feeling of total simplicity- to only really need one item of clothing in multiple scenarios- a bit like a monk wearing his robes or the sadhus of India. There is a sense of detachment from the material and consumerism when less becomes more.

That search eventually led to Nepal, where the most suitable fabric was found, along with a community whose values reflected those at the heart of Gajahemp.

Today, fabrics are supplied by a family with more than twenty years of dedication to hemp textiles. Around them is a wider network of growers, processors, weavers and makers whose skills, livelihoods and stories are woven into every creation.

Gajahemp values simplicity, craftsmanship, quality and meaningful connections within the process.

Collections include hemp sarongs, custom-made clothing and one-off creations designed to honour the individuality of the person wearing them. Talented tailors help bring ideas to life, creating pieces that reflect the unique style, shape and story of each individual.
